The original farm house was built in the 1940’s. Since then, it always had some-kind of business’s operating on the premises, evolving based on the community population and needs, such as: General dealer, butchery, petrol station, coffee shop and now the Bistro. Boerqi Bistro was founded in 2017, it was originally known as Hillbilly’s restaurant. In many ways Boerqi Bistro aims to keep many great “Boerqi” memories and magic alive, but in a way that is all inclusive, incorporating many cultures

About the owners
Kobus was always the main cook in the house and loves cooking and entertaining people. Not that his wife (Anita) can’t cook. She is a great cook, but according to Kobus, she uses every pot and pan available and one needs a day to clean the kitchen when she is done.
